The recordings for Orbis Sonus: Brevia were made around March 31, 2025, a date chosen deliberately.
The unusual location for the recording is the mysterious Vinetis Hall - a place known and accessible only to a few, whose indescribable aura directly influences the music.
Composer and producer Aurel von Eschenbach gathered a large, hand-picked ensemble of virtuosos there to create a total of over thirty miniatures over these intense days. Seventeen of these extraordinary works were selected for this album.
All those involved in the album are sworn to absolute secrecy and will not be published.
Each miniature opens up a unique universe: sometimes dazzling and playful, sometimes profound and somber. Unusual percussion sounds disrupt the familiar, lending each moment a new drama. The soloists - true masters of their craft - are given space in extended passages to fully unfold their talents and redefine musical standards.
The acoustic conditions in the historic Vinetis Hall posed a particular challenge: The architecture creates unique resonances, and the tight time constraints required utmost precision. Nevertheless, targeted technical refinements succeeded in achieving a vibrant, powerful sound that preserves both transparency and depth.
